Last week I was biking from a meeting into the office when I noticed this one dog walking away from a group of other dogs. The dogwalker he was with had dropped his leash and hadn’t even noticed. I started worrying (as I do) – what if that happened to Moe? What if he was scared and slipped his leash and ran? Moe’s dogwalker is -ah-ma-zing (like texts you photos of him and loves him like their own) but it doesn’t hurt to know that if something happens we could easily track him and find him.
In advance of Woofstock, I have been working with Best Buy to test drive the latest and greatest technology for pets including the FitBark Bluetooth Dog Activity Tracker, WonderWoof BowTie Dog Activity Tracker with Bluetooth, and the TrackR Bravo Bluetooth Tracker.
Each product has the ability to track Moe’s location in case he were ever to get lost (with the TrackR proving to be most powerful in my tests so far) the FitBark and WonderWoof trackers can also provide insights into his health and activity levels. Both pair to an app so that you can track activity levels, daily progress, weekly trends and more. I’m having a lot of fun testing both and will be updating this post as each one pulls in more data.
Best Buy has a ton of different pet products which also include wearable cameras, monitoring cameras, and devices to help you train your pet. You can see all of these and more at Best Buy’s booth at Woofstock this Saturday and Sunday (May 28-29) in Toronto’s Beaches Neighbourhood. Bring your dog!
