Greens+ Energy Pre-Workout Shake Recipes

I’m not one of those people who springs out of bed in the morning, particularly the mornings that I set my alarm early to squeeze in a run or a workout. And after work the struggle to get to the gym or my running group is incredibly real. I’m tired. I don’t get a lot of sleep and a long day at work can be mentally exhausting. And while I’m all aboard the post-workout protein/refuel train I have been having difficulty finding pre-workout supplements, meals, or snacks that won’t leave my stomach growling but will also give me the extra push I need to get going.

I heard about greens+ Extra Energy and have been using it before workouts for an extra boost of protein and energy. Greens + is made from natural and organic ingredients and doesn’t give you a post-boost crash. I have the Cappuccino flavour.

Here are a few of my favourite recipes for green+:

For your sweet tooth: Double Chocolate Shake

There is nothing more satisfying to my sweet tooth than waking up to a chocolatey shake and it is the perfect treat at the end of the day.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 scoop greens+ Extra Energy Cappuccino flavour
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder

Add all ingredients in a blender (or Magic Bullet) and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Full & Fruity: Blueberry Shake

Pack some extra fruit into your shake for an extra boost.

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup blueberries (frozen or thawed)
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 scoop greens+ Extra Energy
  • Sometimes I throw in 1-2 ice cubes for a thicker blended drink!

Add all ingredients in a blender (or Magic Bullet) and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
