Saying Goodbye

I’ve been a bit MIA but I promise you it’s been for good reason! I’ve been busy packing and planning and working and building. And Friday night I said goodbye to the apartment that has been my home for the past 3+ years.

I threw a big party with all of my friends who have ever been over and we said goodbye with some drinks and a big water fight at the end of the night. I spent my last night in my apartment with the best people I know doing exactly what I wanted to do 🙂 My old apartment was the first time I really felt like I had a proper home in the city and had most of the things I could ever want in an apartment, including lots of windows and light and a great backyard for the dog. But it’s time for me to move on and make new memories and fall in love with another apartment. And I have fallen in love with a bright and sunny apartment in the same neighbourhood!

New Home

Goodbye red paint! You won’t be missed!

Moving Truck

My view after 3 hours of sleep. Wasn’t even mad.

I’m also incredibly grateful for the help of my brothers, parents, and my cousin Andrew who all showed up bright and early with a moving truck and broke their backs all day and most of the evening to make sure I had a bed to sleep on and curtains on the windows. Huge thanks also go to Megan, Morgan, and Courtney who answered my panicked near-tears call after I looked around my apartment full of furniture and boxes and didn’t know what to do. They brought me out to dinner, ran to the LCBO, and unpacked my entire kitchen and set up the living room!  Seriously guys – you all saved me! Thank you so much!

Now if you need me, I’ll be trying to figure out where I packed the coffee…

Posts like this make me shed a tear, Jamie. But I’m genuinely glad you’ve found a new home.
