I know I’ve been sharing some new apps lately. I’ve been using Strum to share my experiences and gain points to redeem at my favourite businesses and Qwyrk to #SayItWithSound. It’s kind of funny that I’ve shared so many apps on here lately because other than my social media apps (and there are a LOT of them – 2 folders worth on my iPhone!) I don’t really use a lot of applications. For me, an app has to be incredibly useful to last more than a week and a couple uses on my phone.
Checkout 51 meets all of my criteria and it saves me money on my groceries. How many of your apps do that?
How It Works
Every week, Checkout 51 posts a list of “offers” (pictured above). There is also a weekly offer of $1 back whenever you buy more than $60 in groceries in one trip.
Every time you go shopping – no matter where you shop or how much you pay for the product – you just upload your receipt by taking a photo of it within the app. You check off which eligible offers you purchased and then wait a couple of hours for your receipt to be verified. They have also recently launched a contest feature: if you upload a receipt where you spent at least $60 you are entered for a chance to win $500! That’s a LOT of Pizza Pockets for next time!
Your “cash back” value is applied to you account as soon as your receipt is redeemed. You can request a payout as soon as your balance reaches $20. I’ve used it twice and I’m already above $5 – and that’s without buying anything that wasn’t already on my shopping list!
Digital couponing FTW!
