Milestones for Eventbrite!

Yesterday was a really big celebration for one of my clients:

Eventbrite 100 million tickets

See that number? At some point (around 1:30 p.m. EST) Eventbrite processed its 100 millionth ticket! To celebrate they released this video that looks at all of the event-goers who use Eventbrite to discover and attend events:

So why else did TechCrunch say “Champagne corks are a-flyin’ this morning at Eventbrite”? Eventbrite also announced it had made $1.5 billion dollars in ticket sales. To put the speed of growth into a bit of perspective:

2006: Eventbrite founded
2012: $1 billion in ticket sales
2013: $1.5 billion

So while it took about 5 years to make their first billion, it only took about 9 months to make another half billion. At this rate, the amount of growth that will occur in the next 6-12 months is really staggering!

I’m so excited to be working with such an innovative company. I think sometimes I tend to underemphasize the scope of the work the team is doing, but they are really disrupting the ticketing industry and there are lots of people behind the scenes doing some amazing work. I can’t say enough how thrilled I am to be representing Eventbrite in Toronto. I’m hoping to help propel the growth in the next 6-12 months from Canada, eh!

Tonight I’m celebrating by meeting new and old faces at #BriteDrinksTO; an open house happy hour event at The Office Pub. Hope to see you there!Β
