Making plans for New Year’s Eve always makes me anxious. There is a lot of pressure on having the perfect night, at the perfect party, wearing the perfect party dress or suit, with your best friends. I always like to find a fun party at one of my favourite bars or venues but it seems like every venue in Toronto is hosting something for the night. I want to help you pick the perfect party for New Year’s Eve, so I present:
Jamie’s New Year’s Eve 2013 Toronto Party Guide
New Year’s Eve Masquerade at The Drake Hotel
The Drake’s annual New Year’s Eve party is always one of the most highly anticipated parties of the year. Their theme is always classy but classic and tickets sell out quick. There are several ticket options including general admission (entrance after 9pm, $55), after midnight ($30), three course dinner ($75), four course dinner ($100), and a strolling caberet dinner ($75). Voyeur NYE 2013 at The Great Hall (presented by She Does the City)
The Great Hall is a charming venue and Voyeur NYE is going to be a wild party with music from the likes of Alixander III & Starving Yet Full of Azari & III, Gingy, Prince Club, Poupon, Mr Charlton, Members Only, Douglas Carter, Sean Roman, Trivedi, Nicholas Nice, Cal, Tyler West, Tudor. The She Does the City girls know how to throw an awesome party so you know this one can’t be missed!
NYE Casa Loma: Party at the Castle
What is better than spending New Year’s Eve partying in one of Toronto’s most mysterious and legitimate castles? Other than the venue, there will be no dusty patrons or historic guests; Casa Loma’s NYE parties attract Toronto’s young professionals for a night of elegance and mystery. DJ M-Rock and class!ck will be playing hip-hop and house favourites. Dress code is semi-formal and the party starts at 10pm. There’s even bottle service and VIP booths for those looking to be treated like royalty for the eve.
Tickets are $75 and available here.
Nyood NYE Prom 2013
Who doesn’t want to revisit their prom for NYE on Queen West? Nyood will even spike the punch themselves! Expect a prom-inspired photo booth and twenty-something guests dressed to the nines. Tickets include a midnight glass of champagne “punch” and the two ticket options cater to “the Ladies and Gents” or the “Ties and Tiaras” based on your prom spirit animals. VIP booths are also available.
The Thompson Hotel NYE
The Thompson Hotel always hosts the hottest events and this New Year’s Eve will be no different. Whether you want to party in the lobby or on the rooftop, you can party in style with live entertainment and DJs. Bottle service is available for both ticket options.
Tickets are $25 or $85 depending on whether you want to post photos of the Toronto skyline on Instagram all evening and are available here.
