Does the name sound familiar? You probably read the book in grade school or saw the old movie. The story goes…a plane crash leaves a group of school boys stranded on an island. Instead of making friends with an agreeable volleyball a la Castaway, the group of young boys struggle to maintain civility with no adults or rules. The boys struggle with issues of power, democracy, and issues of “good vs. evil”. I always loved the book because I thought it was interesting in a real-deal Survivor way. The whole movie is on Youtube here
, in case you were wondering how I’ll be procrastinating for the rest of the day. And because the book is always
better than the movie, there are also a number of copies available through Toronto Public Library here

$49 (plus your 10% off!) for a night out with a good friend or a good date is very city-savvy and Lord of the Flies promises a fun and slightly nostalgic night out. I’ll be going this week too – see you there?
