Last summer Molson Canadian’s Red Lead Project helped restore 10 community park’s across Canada and have put the project in overdrive for this summer. The Red Leaf Projects goal for this summer is to restore ten times that number – that’s 100 parks across our home and native land! The project, in partnership with Evergreen, promotes sustaining park space in cities and collaborative community living.
The call for volunteers for the Park Projects has been made and spots are filling up fast. Volunteers work for a few hours at a location of their choice helping to plant trees, mulch, weed, and clean up a green space in somewhere in Canada. As thanks for their hard work, the Red Leaf Project gives each volunteer tickets to an awesome major summer concert.
I have compiled a list of the Red Leaf Projects still looking for volunteers downtown and in the east and west ends of the city. Some parks have morning and afternoon volunteer shifts so you can still go for your brunchables and volunteer in the afternoon or volunteer in the morning and be day drunk on a patio before most of your friends are even awake.
This list is by no means exhaustive! There are also events in and around the GTA including in Richmond Hill, Bolton, Markham, Kitchener, Oakville, Burlington, Brantford, London, Barrie and so many more cities across Canada! Please check the Molson Canadian Facebook page to find an event near you.
Volunteer spaces fill up quickly, so sign up soon!
