After a few failed years of V-Fest on Toronto Island, I’m glad Virgin has finally put its money towards a well organized festival and I’m even more glad that it’s within road-trip-worthy distance of me casa in Toronto.
Hosted at Parc Jean-Drapeau in downtown Montreal, it all goes down August 3rd-5th and spans four stages. Minus the camping, it’s the best way for those of us missing Coachella to don our wayfarers and hang out in the sun all weekend with best friends and overpriced brews. There are over 90 bands on the bill including Snoop Dizzle Dog, The Black Keys, Feist, Justice, MGMT, Brand New, Common, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Sheepdogs, Yukon Blonde and so many many more. You can check out who plays on which day here.
Montreal really knows how to throw an outdoor music festival. The eclectic mix of rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic music has met rave reviews for the past five years as southern Ontario’s best organized outdoor festival.
Tickets come in steep at $217.50 for weekend general admission tickets, $155 for 2 day tickets (Saturday and Sunday), or 1 day tickets at $85.
Be sure to book your hotel ASAP! Spots fill up quick, if they haven’t already.
