Back on the Slopes for a #ScionWeekend

Swung by the Scion Downtown dealership yesterday to say hi to Brad. Was happy I did because this baby was finally back from all the test drives it’s been on! The iQ is a busy little lady lately because it came out this month! Have you seen all the ads on billboards and streetcars downtown? I like the ad copy!

I like the xB in this colour (wonder why…). Scion has really cool names for normal colours. I would maybe call this slate. They call it Army Rock Metallic.

Wanted to show you how cute the xB is without the decals that mine has. Looks like a totally different car doesn’t it? I think it’s so sleek!

Here’s the iQ again! It’s the world’s smallest car that still has a back seat. Take that Smart car! I think back seats are Smarter! I think it’s the perfect little car for booting around the city. Errands errands errands. Imagine how easy it would be to parallel park this thing on Queen Street during rush hour πŸ˜‰ It’s Jamie-sized!

Decided to take my xB snowboarding. I used to go all time – once a week with my high school and on the weekends with friends to Blue Mountain. My favourite memory from high school was snowboarding with the “Blue Club”. I used to ride park too but then I became a huge wuss. Wish I had kept it up! I want to be a snowboarding momma one day who can tailgrab into an MJ on a box.

I rarely snowboard now that I live in the city without a car. Sometimes I can beg my little brother to come pick me up when he goes but it’s so out of the way for him. I can’t tell you how stoked I was to go with my Scion!

The streets in my ‘hood were pure ice this weekend. The Scion handled it well – I was actually a bit surprised. It has traction on slippy roads and good winter tires on!

Not much snow up here in Milton. This shot was taken about 2 minutes from Glen Eden.

Snow here! They were making lots on the hill. Glen Eden was okay, but mostly because it’s so close and easy to get to. Next time I’m just going to bite the bullet, throw some friends in the car, and go up to Blue Mountain. Far better runs!

It was -15 at the hill today, but didn’t feel too bad. See these goggles? I love them! Got a great deal on them at the Ski & Snowboard Show years ago. I’m not a big fan of pink so isn’t it funny that my jacket & goggles are pink? I got them because they match my board.

My board is a Jeenyus Tara Dakides pro model. I used to idolize her because she was such a cool, strong, woman who just hung with the boys. She’s also smoking hot and really charismatic. #girlcrush
My board is pretty “high school Jamie” and I definitely need a new one soon!

Romantical chairlift ride. I find the lift so serene and pretty. Then I got yelled at to put my phone away because I tend to drop things.

Everything fits with lots of room to spare.

We parked here to take our boots off and get going. Sat and watched the bunnyhill for a bit. So entertaining! I was on that exact hill just eating it 10 years ago when I went boarding for the first time.

This weekend I:
picked up takeout, went grocery shopping, got a massive bag of dog food, visited my parents, went to my little brother’s hockey game, went snowboarding, returned empties (holler at my coffee money), went to a new dog park, got a Nutella latte on the east end, and worked a full day today. Hoooly productive with a car!

I’m at the office all day today because we have so many trials going on right now. So busy! Just finished up at work and now I’m off to try some #modmex at Pachuco on the Danforth! I’ll let you know what I think, okay?

It didn’t feel that cold on the hill actually! Glen Eden is in a funny little place where the wind doesn’t really seem to get to you.
My mani/pedi is still holding up, but Lilae has an infected toe from that place!

I never thought I’d say a car was cute, but that vehicle is flippin’ adorable! I can’t believe how much gear you crammed into that thing.

You’ve been snowboarding for 10yrs? Is it hard? I’ve never tried.

When I counted how many years I’ve been snowboarding I got kind of sad because 10 years is a long time. I started when I was a teenager. Do you ski? I never learned how to ski – figured I was safer strapping both my feet to something than leave anything up to coordination.

Oh god no, I’m terrible at skiing, I just tangle up my skis and fall over. Never tried snowboarding though… maybe one day!
